Immune Booster Shots

Did somebody say shots?! 👀 But not tequila (this time at least). These immune boosting shots can be taken straight up if you dare, or frozen to be made into tea at a later date. Packed with fresh ginger, turmeric, and citrus, they’re my first response for boosting my immune system and recovering from a cold! Only 4 powerful ingredients and SO easy to make, these immune boosters are an essential part of your cold & flu season toolkit.

INGREDIENTS

  • 5-7 small pieces of ginger

  • ~10 pieces of turmeric root (these are smaller than ginger root, but aim for about equal parts)

  • 5 organic lemons

  • dash of black pepper (to activate the turmeric)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Cut rind off lemons and place whole peeled lemons at the bottom of your blender (or closest to the blade). Peel turmeric and ginger; cut into 1 inch sections and place into the blender. Add the black pepper.

  2. Blend, adding up to 1 cup of filtered water as needed. Strain the mixture then store in the fridge for up to a week if taking them as shots or pour into ice cube molds and freeze.

  3. For Tea: place 1-2 ice cubes in a mug and top with boiling water. Enjoy with organic local honey.
